I am a postdoc in the Komiyama Lab at UCSD. I recently completed my PhD in Lindsey Glickfeld’s lab at Duke, where I studied visual cortical circuits. I grew up in a small town on Long Island and then spent time in the Chicago/Evanston area for college at Northwestern University. At Northwestern, I worked in Tiffany Schmidt’s lab, where I studied vision with a focus on intrinsically photosensitive retinal ganglion cells (ipRGCs). Outside of lab, I keep myself busy with cooking, ceramics, hanging out with my fiancée, Eli, and trying not to keep all of the cats we might be fostering at the time.
Wherever I work, I strive to help build a supportive and inclusive community among individuals who share an excitement for science. My experience has taught me that I get back what I’ve put in—the neuroscience communities I’ve engaged with at NU, Duke, and various conferences have been essential for getting me to where I am today.
I am broadly interested in understanding how biological processes at the level of single neurons and synapses shape computations in the brain. Feel free to learn more about my projects in lab, check out my CV, or contact me with any questions!
